Singapore, 21 March 2019 – Homegrown SG:D Accredited company, iVideoSmart Pte Ltd (“IVS”), announces new funding round.

iVideoSmart recently closed a US$4.5 million Series A+ from leading investors which included Kickstart Ventures, Darwin Ventures and SGInnovate. Original investors, Monk’s Hill Ventures and EE Capital had also participated.

IVS is currently one of the largest independent video publishers in the region delivering over 150m video views on 500m pages and reaching over 80m unique users across its network of media publishers in 5 countries. Its smart widgets provide content contextual matching to recommend relevant videos for better user engagement. Its “HotSpot” video solution provides programmatic and optimised direct from video to eCommerce affiliate conversion, empowering publishers to deliver call-to-action and performance-based offerings to advertisers.

IVS’ CEO, Sze Chin (SQ) Lee said, “We welcome the funding and the renewed faith and support that our investors are offering us. We believe that we have made sufficient inroads in disrupting the market as shown by our explosive growth especially in the last 6 months. We differentiate ourselves by profiling against content which leads to better engagement and we are pushing the boundaries of video with our affiliation and monetization suite of solutions.”

The company plans to use the proceeds for commercial and technical expansion as well as business development. With headquarters in Singapore and operations in Southeast Asia, it is looking at expanding its Asia footprint.

Kickstart Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Philippine telco Globe Telecom that invests in digital startups globally, led the round. “There is broad agreement in the industry that video is the format that drives user engagement, and will continue to do so in the coming years,” said Minette Navarrete, Vice-Chairman and President of Kickstart Ventures. “We believe in investing in innovations that support the entire video ecosystem — the content creators and owners, the publishers and media companies, the agencies and brands. iVideoSmart dramatically improves brand safety while increasing personalisation and efficiency, and providing better monetisation for publishers and content owners. iVideoSmart has an ambitious plan for increasing diversity in the digital advertising ecosystem, and Kickstart is happy to support the iVideoSmart team.”
